Password PRO tip

It can be hard to make sure that you are typing your password correctly when you only see dots!

To get around this, open a text editor like Notepad (Windows) or Textpad (Mac) and type the password in there. Then use the copy/paste function to put the password into the password field on the login site.

Use an ‘Icognito’ Window

Sometimes it is hard to log in because your browser is using a cached version of the page.

To get around this, use an incognito window (Chrome).

Click on the three dots in the upper right hand corner and choose ‘new incognito window’. Then go to the CAFCN website (cafcn.ca) and click on the green button on the home page (scroll down until you see it) to get to the login page for the conference.

Will there be anyone available to help me if I get stuck?

Yes!

We are planning to have 2-3 technicians at the conference to help with problems as they arise.

However, you can mitigate the need for help by participating in a practice session and/or logging in early and looking around. By making sure that you are familiar with the system before the conference starts, you can have a smoother, more relaxing time actually AT the conference.

I have never been to an online conference before. What do I need to know?

An online conference is different from an in-person conference, but there are a lot of similarities too! We have tried to keep things looking as familiar as possible while operating on an entirely different platform.

Here are some things that you can do to have your best conference:

  • Check your equipment – Make sure you are using equipment (laptop, computer, iPad, phone) that is relatively modern and can handle continuous video. If you can watch Netflix, you are probably okay.
  • Check your connection speed – Make sure that you sit where you are going to sit to attend the conference and […]

What kind of computer do I need to have to attend the conference?

While it doesn’t matter what kind of computer you have, please remember that this is an online video conference, so you need to make sure that you are using a computer that can handle continuous video. If you can play videos from YouTube without any problems, you should be okay.

Be sure to test the computer that you intend to use on the day of the conference AND the connection. For example, if you are planning to participate in the conference at home, be sure to test your equipment and connection speed from the location where you are going to attend. […]

How do I know if I’ve been registered?

Once you have filled out and submitted the form on the registration page, you will be taken to a ‘thank you’ page.

If you paid by credit or debit, your registration is complete and you should receive an email with the payment notification.

If you chose the ‘pay offline’ option, you will still need to complete an e-transfer (EFT) to CAFCN ([email protected]) for your registration to be complete. Once we have processed your payment, you will get the payment notification email.
